Situated in the northwest of France in the Upper and Lower Normandy regions, the national innovative cluster “Nov@log” specializes in supply chain and logistics organization and transport and flow sectors.
The cluster members have 2 key objectives:
- Anticipate and develop global tracking, process optimization, logistics flow, industrial flow and information systems.
- Optimize product life cycles and sustainable development.
Advantages
- The innovative cluster Nov@log has a privileged geographical and maritime location; it has a very large port and industrial network. Its multimodal network makes it possible to reach Northern Europe as well as Eastern Europe and is a major departure point for North America.

- 25 centers, including CERENE (Centre d’Etude et de Recherche en Economie et Gestion Logistique), INERIS (Institut National de l’Environnement Industriel et des Risques), Université de Rouen, Université du Havre, Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA), Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Rouen (ESC), Institut Supérieur d’Etudes Logistiques (ISEL), Ecole de la Marine Marchande, Ecole des mines de Saint Etienne etc.
- Over 10 other organizations are also partners of the cluster, including the Regional Directorate for Industry, Research and the Environment (DRIRE), Fonds Social Européen (FSE), Regional Council of Upper Normandy, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Le Havre and Rouen (CCI), Autonomous Port of Rouen and Le Havre, Township Committees etc.
Current R&D Project Partnerships (refer to appendix)
- 50 projects have been certified between 2005 and mid-2008 for a total investment of over 52 million euros
Almost one million euros were paid by OSEO in 2006
- Over half a million euros awarded by the National Research Agency (Agence Nationale de la Recherche of ANR) in 2006
