Invest in France Agency at Davos: "France is on the move!"

In 2008 the Invest in France Agency will be an official partner of the 38th World Economic Forum for the fourth year running. Held in Davos (Switzerland) from January 23 to 27, this year's forum has made "The Power of Collaborative Innovation" its key theme.
For its fourth participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, once again, the Invest in France Agency is displaying clearly the priority which France gives to business and the attractiveness of its territory. For the benefit of economic decision makers it will reaffirm the wish and the ability of France to attract new investment and maintain its position as a leader in the corporate world. This year IFA will focus on the theme: "France is on the move!" (International Monetary Fund, November 2007).
For the first time, the French Prime Minister, François Fillon, will be present in Davos from 23 to 24 January 2008.
Christine Lagarde, the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Employment will represent the government from 25 to 27 January.
In 2008, AFII will carry out its mission to promote France among decision makers from all over the world through two major events:
A lunch on Saturday 26 January in the presence of Christine Lagarde
This lunch, organised jointly with Deloitte, will allow 10 foreign business leaders and a few specially selected French company directors to take advantage of a moment of constructive and privileged exchange with the Minister on the subject of France's economic policy and attractiveness.
A gala evening on 26 January
France has been selected to organise the World Economic Forum gala evening on Saturday 26 January. All the participants from the World Economic Forum will be invited. This evening will be devoted entirely to France. It will present our territory's many assets through its technologies, its regional cuisine, its wines and its artists, by focusing systematically on the contrast between tradition and innovation and promoting young talent.
Deloitte and the development agencies which are members of the Friend NFX Association, Aderly, Provence Promotion, Ouest Atlantique and Team Côte d'Azur, as well as Total, Orange, Air France and Pernod Ricard, will sponsor this event.
From 8pm, for two hours, AFII will devote a privileged space (the Forum) to about one hundred VIP guests. This space will be an outstanding opportunity for exchanges and meetings, in particular, thanks to the presence of the Minister, Christine Lagarde.
