“Lyonbiopôle” cluster specializes in infectious diseases and medical diagnosis products. It converges some 450 large enterprises (Biomérieux, Sanofi-Pasteur, Roche, and Merial) as well as innovative SMEs. French scientists are working in the cluster’s P4 laboratory on critical concerns such as the Ebola virus.

 Objectives

  • Consolidate the cluster’s position as world leader in:
    Diagnostics: develop and market new diagnostic testing equipment, tests and follow-up.
    Vaccines: develop new vaccines to prevent major pandemics; improve existing treatment for infectious diseases and viral cancers.
  • Develop innovative technologies to accelerate and secure the release of new pharmaceutical products;
  • Access new markets: cancer, cardio-vascular diseases, diseases of the immune system, etc.
  • Provide a framework for 20 Research & Development projects with different partners;
  • Create an Infectious Diseases Research Center (Centre de Recherche en Infectiologie – CRI)
