
E-SecureTransactions - Transactions Electroniques Sécurisées

Located in the Lower Normandy region, the “Transactions Electroniques Sécurisées” innovative cluster specializes in financial transactions, the secure exchange of electronic data and the digital identity management.
The cluster aims to provide structure to the SET sector and become:
- Within five years, the European leader with regard to R&D, training and industrial development in Secure Electronic Transactions.
- A pilot area, a place of experimentation for products, services and large-scale usage
- A magnet for skills and expertise, based on its ability to stimulate innovative projects and establish collaborations at national and international levels.

10 other organizations are also partners in the cluster including the Chambre Régionale de Commerce et d’Industrie (CRCI) (Chamber of Commerce and Industry) for Lower Normandy, Groupement des Cartes Bancaires (Bankers Card Association), Normandie Incubation, Synergia, Port de Plaisance de Cherbourg (Cherbourg pleasure harbour).

42 projects were certified between 2005 and mid-2008 with a total investment of 126 million euros
Public funding examples:
• Over 5 million euros granted by the National Research Agency (Agence Nationale de la Recherche or ANR) between 2005 and 2007
• Almost 11 million euros allocated by the Single Interministerial Fund (Fonds Unique Interministériel or FUI) between 2005 and 2007
