Nutrition Santé Longévité

The Nutrition Santé Longévité innovative cluster, created in December 2005, is the fruit of the merger of the scientific community and industrial firms of the Biology/Health and Agri-Food sectors. It promotes and contributes to research partnerships on functional foods, nutritional supplements and medicines as vehicles for the prevention of diseases associated with metabolic disorders and ageing (diabetes, obesity, hypertension). It brings together agri-food participants, biotechnology companies and higher education and research institutions of the North Pas de Calais region around innovative job-creating partnership projects linked to Nutrition and Health.
The cluster members have set 5 principal objectives:
- Develop innovative biomolecules to prevent and treat metabolic disorders and the related diseases, and neuro-degenerative diseases
- Formulation and development of functional ingredients and foods
- Strengthen initiatives for economic coordination and promotion of the sector internationally
