Located in the north of France, in the Paris (Ile-de-France) region, the global innovative cluster SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION specializes in the following 5 themes: Automobile and Transport, Open-source Software, System Design and Development Tools, Security and Defense, Telecommunications.
The cluster has 3 priority objectives:
- Consolidate the leadership of the main integrators and operators of complex systems to secure the sustainability of their R&D activities in the Ile-de-France region.
- Develop economic activity and employment in the Ile-de-France region by encouraging start-ups in industry and services, and by attracting the R&D centers of international companies in the field of complex systems.
- Strengthen the attractiveness of the Ile-de-France region by enhancing the global reputation of its technology in the fields of design, development and control of complex systems.

The SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION cluster represents one of the biggest concentrations worldwide of companies in the digital intelligence industry.

120,000 jobs including 42,000 in industrial research and 8,000 in academic research.
Partners also include other organizations: the French Government and its agencies (ANR, OSEO etc.), local municipal authorities (Ile-de-France Region, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Val d’Oise, Yvelines departments and the City of Paris), as well as organizations such as the Groupe Caisse des Dépôts, Network of Chambers of Commerce and industry Ile-de-France-Paris, Essonne, Val d’Oise, Yvelines, departmental economic development agencies.

International partnerships
Current
• Members of the SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION cluster are involved in various European networks, particularly European technology platforms (ARTEMIS, eMobility, etc.) and the EUREKA (ITEA , MEDEA+ , etc.) clusters, and are extensively involved in European Commission Research Programs (PCRD)
• To date, the SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION cluster has collaborated with the AEROSPACE VALLEY cluster and the German SafeTRANS cluster in a tripartite partnership within EICOSE (European Institute for Complex & Safety Critical Embedded Systems Engineering) in the field of critical embedded systems for transport.
• During the cluster’s 3rd Internal Convention on June 18, 2008, a partnership agreement was signed with the Comité National des Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur de la France (CNCCEF) which will enable SMEs within the SYSTEMàTIC PARIS-REGION cluster to access CCE expertise on a sector and/or geographical level to assist CEOs with their international development
• A cooperation agreement was also signed between SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION and the Dutch Point-One cluster. Relations with Point-One date back to 2006, with R&D projects registered jointly in 2007 as part of the Eureka ITEA 2 inter-cluster bid. This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two clusters.
Future
• Objective of 16 international technology partnerships throughout Europe and the rest of the world (United States, South Korea, Japan, India, China…)
• USA mission in December 2008 with 10 SMEs from the cluster.
