> JobisO SARL, transforming the recruitment world in France

JobisO’s consultants found their first customers in a matter of months: even the reputedly most cautious of French companies have signed up in numbers to test this revolutionary recruitment method. Beyond the initial curiosity, the company’s first few months of trading have far exceeded forecasts; JobisO is now looking to expand its French team.

JobisO SARL is a young innovative French company specializing in low-cost recruitment. The company has developed a concept involving a free recruitment service, from analysis of a company’s needs to the selection of suitable candidates. Once the right candidate is hired, JobisO SARL charges companies a flat low-cost fee of less than €1000.

Since the economic downturn in 2008, households and companies have changed their consumer habits. Low-cost services are now the new model. Studying the French recruitment market, JobisO SARL realized that French employers were facing recruitment costs that JobisO’s business model could lower. “There was a window of opportunity for us to launch in France; we were at the right place at the right time: companies were in dire need of reliable recruitment services but without all the costs attached to it”, explains Oliver Wilkinson, Managing Director of JobisO SARL.

“We noticed that French employers did not always have solutions for their recruitment needs: agencies are often too expensive and offer unnecessary products, whereas recruitment portals do not guarantee that you will find the perfect candidate, while still charging huge amounts”, adds Benjamin Tack, co-founder of JobisO SARL. “There was definitely an opportunity for us in the French market”. Consequently, JobisO SARL decided to offer their innovative low-cost recruitment service to French SMEs and multinationals. The company is planning to create at least 10 jobs in France in the next two years.

JobisO SARL chose Lille, in northern France, as a base, due to its proximity to London, its ideal location at the heart of Europe offering great potential for interactions with other European countries, the availability of highly qualified staff in the Lille region, as well as the incentives provided by the French government to set up in an urban enterprise zone (ZFU).

The Invest in France Agency UK and Ireland (IFA UKI) helped JobisO SARL to determine the most suitable legal structure for its new business. The IFA UKI also connected JobisO with its local partner, the Lille Metropole Development Agency (APIM), which determined JobisO’s eligibility for state aid incentives if it set up business in France. “The IFA UKI provided lots of useful information on the legal environment in France, which had changed since we established our first company in the country. Thanks to them, we saved a lot of time and avoided making some time-consuming mistakes” adds Mr. Wilkinson.

“France is an ideal location for a young SME because of its highly qualified workforce. JobisO SARL knew they would be able to rely on qualified and dedicated personnel and the company seized the opportunity to claim incentives provided by the French government to kick-start their business in the Lille region.”
