The IFA will meet Brazilian decision-makers and business leaders in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo from August 31 to September 4, 2010, through two conferences it has organized in Rio de Janeiro (August 31) and São Paulo (September 3), in partnership with the Getulio Vargas Foundation, a prestigious Brazilian think-tank.
The aim is to present what France as a business location can offer Brazilian companies and encourage them to invest in the country. The Chairman and CEO of the IFA, Mr. David Appia, will give a presentation including advice on recent measures implemented to facilitate foreign investment in France.
On the conference program too are a series of testimonials from Brazilian entrepreneurs who have already successfully invested in France. Presentations by specialists from both countries will also be offered to business leaders on topics such as investment strategy and taxation.
With this series of conferences, the IFA is reaffirming its commitment to Brazil, which has already resulted in the creation of a Brazilian Investors Club in 2009 and the opening of a new office in São Paulo in June 2010.
According to Morgan Stanley, Brazil’s expected growth rate in 2010 is 6.8%. Brazilian companies, such as aerospace manufacturer Embraer, now figure among the world leaders in their sectors and are starting to conquer markets abroad: annual outward investment has increased from around US $1 billion in 2000-2003 to almost US $14 billion in 2004-2008.
