Yoshimasa Ogino
Established in 1929, Akebono Brake Industry is the leading Japanese manafacturer of braking systems. the company has 165 staff in France.
Why did your company choose to invest in France?
We wanted to set up a base for our European operations and we chose France because France is very innovative in terms of R&D facilities. That was a major reason for us.
What makes France attractive to you as an investor ?
I would have to give the same answer. France’s capacity for R&D is what is most attractive to us as a company and also the very innovative attitude of the people to make our future brake components. That is the reason why we came here.
What are your company’s future investment plans in France?
Although we also have manufacturing facilities in France, we would particularly like to expand our R&D facilities. Once again, R&D is central to our business, so our more immediate plans are to expand our R&D facility in Paris.
